Amanda Crowther

I have lived in Honley for the past 19 years with my son Haydn. We have always thoroughly loved living in the village but lately, having been involved with Honley volunteers, we have now really immersed ourselves into the community and it has been a joy to connect with so many people. I work in marketing but have also had a 12 year career as a professional photographer. It is these skills I bring to the group during this difficult time. If you have any stories you would like to share, please get in touch with me. All interviews and photographs taken at a safe distance for all.

Glenn Kirkby

I am Glenn Kirkby and have lived in the village for 23 years. I am married to Katie and have 2 children, Ryan (26), who lives in Kent and Jade (21) who is just completing a degree in Primary Education. I retired last year having spent 36 years working in IT. As we love living in the village I have now got involved with Honley Business Association, the Village Trust and now this new initiative to make sure the people of Honley have the latest help and information during this unusual time.

Sylvia Sellen

I'm the comer-in of the team, and whilst I've only lived in Honley for 7 years, it's certainly stole my heart. My passion is helping people and so I set up Friends of Honley 5 years ago, and have been chair of Honley Business Association for a year.

We have a superb team of volunteers in Honley and a suite of businesses who don't just trade here, but care about the community. It's been a joy to see these two assets coming together so very well during Covid 19, making Honley's support network the largest (and I'be argued the best) community support effort for miles.

I'm determined and confident that it'll be this very same marriage of assets that will ensure that Honley thrives after Covid  becomes a distant memory.

If you would like to help  or indeed need our support, please don't hesitate to shout!

Jayne Tyas

I'm an early years teacher at a local Kirklees school and have lived in Honley 30 years!

I am married to Jason and we have a son, Sam aged 20 and a daughter Zara aged 17. Jason has lived and worked in Honley all his life. He works at T L Dallas Insurance services so some of you may know him!

I love Honley and it's wonderful community spirit that has even welcomed a Lancashire lass as I'm from Manchester originally.

June McLean

June McLean owns and runs Zebra and is heavily involved with Honley Business Association, being secretary for the last 7 years.

Organising the Christmas Light Switch On each year and the Honley Together Church Street Christmas Market for the last 3 years.

June is wanting to travel the world but that has been curtailed in this current crisis so getting involved with the volunteering is a great distraction.
